Olander Wilson Acting Studio is owned and operated by one of the few working Black actors and current working teachers in New York City – Olander “Big O” Wilson. Coach O graduated with his BFA in Theatre from the University of South Carolina, where he thoroughly classically trained in Sanford Meisner, Method Acting, and Konstantin Stanislavski techniques.

Olander Wilson Acting Studio offers group and one-on-one acting classes for children and adults. OWAS provides a variety of services and acting techniques, including Meisner approaches, Stanislavski Techniques, Method Acting, Commercial Audition Techniques, Filmmaking, Editing 101, Acting for TV & Film, High School Performance Arts, and College Prep. You can have classes/sessions online via Zoom or in person.

OWAS actors come from a variety of educational backgrounds, including elementary, high school, and college. Our students have appeared in commercials, network television series, Broadway, and feature films available on Hulu, Netflix, and Amazon Prime, to mention a few platforms.

How? Olander, who has over ten years of experience as a working actor and acting coach, understands the audition process: from being homeless and wondering where the next meal will come from to juggling five jobs, training on-camera and onstage, teaching acting classes, running to last-minute auditions and callbacks, and booking last-minute commercial and television/film gigs.
